On the scene the kasson aquatic center sits here empty of water and empty of people.
Typically, this time of year, it would be filled and getting ready for memorial day weekend, its opening weekend, but right now the pool is still waiting to see if, when and how it will be able to open.

Beyond that deadline the parks and rec director tells me it wouldn't have enough time to get the pool ready and have a profitable season.

"we'd love to open it for the community and that would be our main objective, but we also know that safety would be a major concern for everyone that would use our facility and we just wouldn't want to open and have someone have it or get it at our pool."
