Happening today- another regional casino is preparing to re-open.... the gold country casino resort in oroville is set to re-open at noon today.

After nine weeks of closure, due to coronavirus safety concerns, the casino will now focus on opening the slot machine floor.

Casino reps say other venues will be reopened later.

We are learning more this morning about that large mother's day gathering in palermo while the state remained in a 'stay at home" order.

Butte county public health says -- they have linked two positive cases of coronavirus to that event.

Health reps say, if another case comes out of the event -- the situation will be declared*an outbreak in a community congregation settin* -- by the california department of public health.

Hundreds turned out for the cottonwood mothers day rodeo, even after county health reps asked the organizer to cancel.

The shasta county public health spokesperson says none of county's most recent coronavirus cases --- are linked to that rodeo event.

Shasta county has gone four days without reporting a new coronavirus case.

The most recent cases have all been people who were*a-sympto- mati* word of the latest casual ty of the coronavirus.

This year's butte county fair... not happenin* the board of directors made the decision tuesday..

And is now looking into opportunities to hold an*online livestock auction.

The fair was set for august 22nd through the 25th.

The employment development department says 3.9 billion in unemployment benefits was paid to california workers impacted by the coronavirus - that amount, for just last week.

That brings the total to 16.1 billion dollars since march 14th... which saw a surge in demand for those seeking aid.

Says 5.1 million claims have been processed.### senators are leaving a three trillion dollar coronavirus rescue bill on the table as they break for memorial day.

The aid would include more direct payments to americans - republic and democrat lawmakers are split on the cost of the bill.

Developing news this morning- a pakistani passenger plane carry nearly a hundred passengers crashed into a residential city... now first responders there are trying to find out how many people survived..

The mayor of that city says no one on board survived the crash..

But now the pakistani civil aviation authority says at least 2 people survived the crash... the pakistani army says it is on scene for relief and rescue efforts... for more on that stay tuned to our national coverage..
