Gatherings spreading

Tonight... this unusual memorial day weekend is coming to a close.

Many traditions had to be altered or completely cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Did you travel out of the area?

Did you host a party at home?

Or did you just stay put with your family?

Kimt news 3's annalise johnson is looking into what could result from our behavior this holiday weekend.

She joins us live.

Annalise?

Live katie?

George?

Southeastern minnesota campsites like this one are empty now... and have been all weekend as the state hasn't allowed them to open up just yet.

But that doesn't mean minnesotans didn't get out into the great outdoors.

Although chester woods wasn't open?

Campgrounds and restaurants in iowa and wisconsin are open for business.

And it may have been tempting to travel across state lines to order and eat a meal or have a drink inside a restaurant for the first time in months.

If that resulted in spreading covi?19... we won't know about the impacts on olmsted county's positive case numbers until 2 weeks from now.

That's because it takes up to 2 weeks for people to develop symptoms. mayor kim norton says numbers will be monitored following the holiday weekend?

As well as when more businesses and spaces reopen next week.xxx people have perhaps had more time with family, maybe done a little bit of traveling and may have breached those 6 foot distancing or forgotten to wear a mask but we're also looking at 2 weeks from the time stores have reopened, and 2 weeks from the time our bars and restaurants are gonna open.

We do have to watch that very carefully to see if people are complying and if we're seeing an increase in cases mayor norton tells me she is optimistic that people from rochester did the right thing this past weekend and abided by safety guidelines.

Live in rochester annalise johnson kimt news 3./// thank you annalise.

Most commonly?

It takes 12 days to experience coronavirus symptoms but some people experience them in as few as 2 days?

Or as many as 14.///
