A group of Leo High School seniors created what's called Leo Senior Gift, a way for each graduating class to leave a mark on the community through a charitable gift.

It a special thing to graduate high school, but with schools across the country closing for the year due to covid-19, many graduating seniors feel their year was cut short.but one local group of seniors is still following through with their plan.fox 55 caleb saylor is live to exple helping ey the community and leaving a legacy behind.caleb..2020 will certainly be a memorable year for the graduating high school seniors, and for those students at leo high school, theye still making sure the impact they planned to leave behind will be noticed.

The class of 2020 has had to deal with missing some of their biggest memories, sports, clubs, graduation meredith minich, a graduating senior at leo says they had plans to create a new memory, but covid-19 gave them pause.

They decided to go through withe t anyway.

Wanted to start something for leo, specifically, and kind of start a chain.

Our class, class of 2020, would have a charity.

Class of 2021 would have a charity and kind of do something like that.

The goal?

To raise money to give a donation to a charity every year.

Class of 2020 is dona house for n grieving chie have a lot of people in our community who have gone through the loss of a parent or the loss of a sibling and so we really wanted to give back to our community.

Debbie meyer says in a time when families may be short on cash, every little bit helps.

Ight now, in this time, we really need gifts like this so our fami have to come house and pay anything.

Students made shirts to sell and a senior memory book to raise the money.

And through the power of social media, hard work, and a few sponsors, they were able to raise over three thousand dollars.

Helping kids in their community and hoping to leave a non-covid-19 memory behind.
