Enforcement had their hands full this morning after an accident on 36 highway.

Thanks for joining us on live at five i'm jodie o'brien.

That accident involving a trailer full of cattle sent dozens of cattle on the loose all across the city.

Kq2's ron johnson joins us now live from near the scene of the incident this morning with the latest, ron?

Yeah, jodie i'm down here on 12th street but the accident took place on the bridge here along 36 highway, that cattle trailer we're told lost control coming into the s-like curve on the bridge and that's when it toppled over sending dozens of cattle everywhere just take a look at this.

Not your average wednesday morning commute.

We're told somewhere between 25-50 cattle got loose after this accident and many of them were spotted in various parts of the city mainly south and east of the accident site.

We spoke with police earier today about how the driver of that tractor trailer is doing now, plus their thoughts on this whole incident.

(sot )"...at one time for sure."many roads miles away from here such as pickett near the belt and easton rd between 31st street and ajax road were closed due to some of those loose cattle.

Others were spotted as far away as the menards near i- 29 and love's truck stop.

At last check law enforcement was still on the search for just about a dozen of those cattle, they're advising people to contact the police department if they come across one of these animals.
