Early absentee voting starts in Minnesota

If you're voting by mail, make sure your ballot is postmarked on election day.

It will be accepted up until two days after the election.

I'm here at olmsted county's new election office on campus drive southeast.

The deadline for submitting an absentee vote for the 2020 primary has also been extended.

Your vote will count if received within two days after the august 11 primary ?

The election office has already seen a rise in absentee voting requests this year because of the pandemic ?

We've been very busy with data entry with all the absentee requests we've received back already.

So we currently are at about 15000 requests to vote absentee just for the august primary election polls here open in just 3(2) hours.

Earlier this month, olmsted county mailed out absentee ballot applications to registered voters.

Because of the state's changes, some of the instructions on that mailing are outdated.
