A Utica woman posted a video to Facebook over the weekend of a man shouting racial slurs at her while hanging out of a car on Geneseet St.

In Utica.

Tonight.

We begin tonight with a disturbing video you might have seen circulating on social media.

It shows a white man shouting racial slurs out the window of a moving car in which he is a passenger.

He appears to be shouting them at a black woman, who is recording it on a cell phone.

I'm a chef" the man identifies himself and appears very angry.

We are not going to broadcast the racial slurs.

You can see the genesee street sign in the background and other identifying signs that they're driving in downtown utica.

Utica police issued a statement.

Quote: we are actively looking into the incident to identify if any crimes have been committed.

Regardless of the criminality of it, we were disgusted and horrified by the words used.

Utica police go on to ask anyone with any information about this incident to call them at 315.223.3464.

Also weighing in, hamilton college president, david wippman, who referenced the video and that the man in once worked in food services at the college.

In an online statement, wippman says, in part, quote: 'he will not be employed here again and has been banned from our campus effective immediately.....i will also reach out to the utica resident who was the target of this individual's slurs.

I want her to know that racism and bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated at hamilton college".
