A manager at Allan’s Coffee & Tea confirmed the incident to KEZI 9 News.

Kezi 9 news.

Day one of the state's mandatory mask order didn't go well in a corvallis coffee shop --- thanks to 4 state troopers who refused to follow the law.

Today& even o-s-p called their actions "embarrassing" ... emma jerome reports.

In normal times... this video from yesterday doesn't seem very dramatic.

It's an oregon state trooper dropping into allans coffee for a nice beverage.

But these aren't normal times... and masks are now required in the state of oregon.

The trooper was immediately asked to put on a face covering... but he refused... saying he would not let his civil liberties be trampled.

Fast forward a few minutes... and you see three other troopers come in.

None of them wearing a mask either.

Minutes later... the manager goes to their table and informs them that the corvallis police had been contacted.

You heard that right.

He called the police on four state troopers.

At that point... the troopers left.

Christopher woodruff: "i would feel awfully bad if they just got a paid vacation if they got pad vacation as a result of acting in such a way.

When we express ourselves in such a manner we are treated much differently than they are" this all on day one of kate brown's statewide mask mandate - one of the troopers allegedly saying "f kate brown" diana allen"i don't see it as political - i see it as a public health issue and keeping myself healthy and my friends and neighbors healthy" emma jerome: "very customer ive seen enter this shop has been wearing a mask - visibly respecting whats been asked of them not only by the business but by the state.

The troopers , however?

Not so much" the coffee shop which has locations in eugene, corvallis, and albany released a statement saying in part "we did not expect that within the first hour of the state mandate four uniformed state police officers would defy the orders, enter our caf?

Without wearing a face mask and refuse requests to wear one.

Osp released a statement saying "this conduct is embarrassing and indefensible, especially in the wake of thousands of oregonians taking to the streets each day to rightfully demand police accountability."

According to osp the first trooper has been placed on administrative leave reporting in corvallis emma jerome
