I spoke to a rochester fire department that tells me that he noticed a similar trend in his neighborhood and he was concerned.

"we figured that their might be an uptick in calls relating to injuries or burns."

Chad kuhlman has been a firefighter for the rochester fire department for four years.

He says the 4th of july is a busy holiday for them... adding nearly 45 percent of fireworks injuries happen to children.

Because the city of rochester had to cancel this year's fourth of july firework display, he wondered if they would see calls involving injuries.

He says right now ?

"* it's too early to tell if there was an increase.

"we did have a busy night last night but fortunatley i didn't hear of any severe injuries or death last night."
