On Monday, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that school would be allowed to reopen based on the data.

To one local superintendent this afternoon...about the new rules for bringing students back the table has been set for reopening schools in new york state.

Blake say keeping students and staff safe comes with a number of challenges such as getting the kids to school and keeping them and staff healthy while they're there.

Issues blake says will come at a cost.

"with a district of our size that runs a budget of between 150- 200 million dollars, the additional expense will be between 5 to 8 million dollars so essentially you're looking at a 5% increase across the board and i think that goes for every district."

That only gives districts a few short weeks to prepare."

Blake says he expects more specific guidelines on wednesday.
