Two Chico nursing homes impacted by positive coronavirus tests

An official with The Inn at the Terraces said one of their team members also tested positive for the coronavirus

The coronavirs is hitting nursing facility's across the country - including here at home.

Action news now reporter christina vitale shows us how one facility in chico is tackling the virus.

Me: an official with the inn at the terraces tells me one of their team members tested positive for the coronavirus a spokesperson says that staff member is in isolation for 14 days and can't return until they test negative.

Mark mcgowan - mom lives at the inn at the terraces: i really feel good about the property that they do take care of my mom and they're watching out for her best interest mark mcgowan's mother faye celebrated her 100th birthday at the facility during the coronavirus shutdown.

Mcgowan: she doesnt really comingle all her meals are brought to her room so she has very minimal contact with the staff.

The inn at the terraces no longer allows window visits or small groups and visitation restrictions are back in full force until further notice.

Mcgowan: thats the hard thing about this age bracket that you cant talk to and be with personally and they dont even want you to go up and talk to the window even if your six feet away it makes it all more difficult mcgowan told action news now he's hopeful for his moms safety.

Mcgowan: yeah i am concerned for my mom but i think this property is doing everything they possibly can to keep this covid 19 out of the inn at the terraces me: officials tell me they tested all residents and staff and are wating for the results to come back reporting in chico christina vitale action news now coverage you can count on.
