Well as you know or if you do't , lafayette lafayette parish association of educators is the largest professional education organization in lafayette representing more than one thousand members including teachers, support professionals, bus drivers, and administrators.

They recently conducted a poll to the members of their organization about their concerns and worried around returning to school..and today we have the results from the organization?

49.6% of our membership self-identified as high risk or increased risk for covid 19complications?

64.7% of our membership felt it would be safest to return 100% virtual?

78.2% support pushing back the start of school to after labor day?

72.4% support committing to virtual for the first 9 weeks.

Now president, julia read of lafayette parish assiiation of educators said in a statement that "while we remain committed to working with the school system no matter what the return toschools looks like, our membership has made it clear they feel unsafe returning to school at this time.

We applaud the school syste's commitment to re- evaluate the plan in the event the 3 covid situation changes."

3 these results have also been provided to school board members and lpss.
