A busy week for firefighters in douglas county... as they've put out a number of fires back to back.

Kezi 9 news reporter evita garza shows us how some canyonville residents are trying to stay prepared as fire activity picks up.

It gets scarier by the minute, unfortunately?

As the weather gets hotter throughout the summer and fire activity begins to pick up& chuck spindel says he is always preparing for the worst.

Spindel says he watched as the days creek road fire burned nearly 25 acres this week.

Fire officials say they have put out five fires in south douglas county since sunday& including two fires along i-5 near milepost 92.

Right now... they are mopping up the days creek road fire.

And, they are currently working to put out a grass fire near dillard that already grown to 10 acres.

It been said that this, i forget how they put it, a banner year for forest fires.

It was supposed to be a bad year for forest fires?

He says it scary not knowing if they were going to spread further than they did?

Fire prevention specialist kyle reed says all of the fires are under investigation& but he says they know they are not related and are likely human caused.

Wee seeing an increase in these fires and fire activity.

Wee asking the public to remember the fire restrictions.

Reed says the douglas forest protective association has increased fire danger to high in response to the fires and the hot weather.
