Deputy convicted of assault

A former rockcastle county deputy jailer has been convicted of assaulting an inmate.

According to testimony, 25-year- old derek clark restrained an inmate...ordered someone else to assault them...and helped.

Then later...according to testimony...clark falsified an incident report...saying the victim spat at deputy jailers...causing two other inmates to slap and punch the victim.

According to prosecutors... evidence showed the victim didn't fight or spit...before another inmate punched them.

Clark faces a maximum of 30 years behind bars.
