The director of the oregon health authority says --- we're starting to see a nationwide shortage in collection kits -- which impacts oregon's testing too.
The university of oregon's research department has been working*tirelessly alongside lane county public health -- to learn more about the coronavirus*locally.

As covid cases continue to rise...hopes remain for more testing availability...treatm ents...or even a vaccine down the road.
And here in eugene...the university of oregon is one of the schools across america leading the charge.

Cassandra moseley is the vice president of research at the university of oregon...and believes that the concerted efforts of the research community into covid-19 have led to unprecedented finds...but still more work to be done.
Cassandra moseley: i think as a society and as a globe, the focus that we've had on learning about this disease has been amazing and what we've learned over a short period of time.
There's so much to know.
We've learned so much so quickly.
The university is also now starting research into how the pandemic has changed the access to household goods and delivery services.
But while the research takes time...moseley says the best way to fight the virus is through the measures in place.
