[Music] welcome to local business spotlight everyone i'm troy thompson joining me in the studio today of course is daniel potter director of admissions from miller-motte college welcome to the show my friend nice to see you long time no see it's been a while it's nice to be in the studio seeing everyone in person now now we do have some exciting news regarding millermock college right now you're opening a new location where is that location for everyone at home it's off of amnicola highway on south creek road um i don't want to give you the wrong address uh because it is brand new but we're putting it all up on the screen as we're talking but yes it's right across uh right off of amnico highway about 11 minutes from our main campus okay so with this new campus we're not closing the old one down are we we're expanding yes so this must be quite exciting for miller-motte to be expanding we are excited we had a cdo commercial driver's license program offered down here actually really close by to this studio yes thank you but it wasn't big enough and we want to we're expanding and growing our programs and so we're closer to home but also uh larger and the cdl is now all on campus yeah explain to everyone at home what cdl is yes so commercial drivers if you want to drive a big truck you need to call us it's good money driving those trucks it is and we're putting drivers on the road continuously [Music] how long is the cdl course uh four weeks that's it that's it and for a male and female both and i would assume there's an age do you have to be a certain you have to be 21 because um that's what it you have to be in order to obtain your cdl and drive across state lines i understand all right what are some of the other classes that you'll be doing there so um at this time we'll be offering not only the uh truck driving but we'll also have uh to be continued there's got to be more yes oh my gosh are you going to get even bigger yeah all right so just explain to everyone at home the hours of operation of the new location okay sure so our new location right now is just daytime hours monday through friday 7 a.m to 5 30 p.m that's what time the truck driving classes start cdl classes start and then on the weekends every other month we're offering weekend cdl truck driving classes oh okay so they'll be there saturdays and sundays danielle i just want everyone to understand i want to reiterate what we said we're not closing down the original campus are we no we are still underwater we still got two locations so with me saying that if you don't mind um if you're wanting to enroll in the cdl or the criminal justice program do you go to that campus to enroll or do you go to the original one eventually our plan is to uh be able to go to both locations to enroll okay okay um but because of some of the things going on in our local and city you know with we want to make sure that we're practicing best practice so you're doing virtual and people can do it all we are they're going to do it all online okay how perfect all right let's just do an encompass of miller mod if you can um let's just talk about a couple of the courses that you do put into place there okay so we still are enrolling for our medical programs which would include medical billing and coding medical clinical assistance we have our dental assistant program surgical technology business and criminal justice why i want to ask you why mila mart if someone's sitting at home right now wanting a change of career if you want a change of career you need to contact us because we care about every single person that comes through to us whether it's in person or on the phone and we also know you're doing a lot of online courses as well we are we have expanded so that way it's easier for for if somebody doesn't want to get out right now yeah we've made it accessible to still go to college that's what i love about miller-motte thank you all you're welcome thank you for watching if you want to find out more information there it all is up on the screen for you miller mock college they will take care of all your future needs when it comes to higher education back after this short break
