Will be a step back for the commonwealth ---- with bars shuttering -*once again.

As 44news megan diventi live from henderson --- its the latest move by kentucky -- to flatten the curve.

Brian and jessica-- governor beshear makes this announcement after a meeting with the white house coronaviurs task force response team... it's all in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus... "this virus is now escalating and spreading so much statewide that statewide action is necessary."

Those were the words of kentucky governor andy beshear monday afternoon--- for many restaurants with bars like rookies in henderson--- the coronavirus has hit business hard--forcing them to make changes like never before-- "we're really focusing on to go and maybe getting into delivery again and we had family style meals...we'll be pushing that again."

On tuesday -- the bluegrass businesses will take another punch in this pandemic -- free standing bars throughout the state are to close for two weeks----indoor restaurant capacity will be reduced to 25 percent..... outdoor dining is permitted without capacity restraints as long as social distancing is maintained.... "this is going to hurt a lot of restaurants but the white houses modeling shows that this is absolutely necessary to slow the spread at this time where we either become the next florida or we get it under control and save the lives of our p-eople and we protect the economy."

The new steps--- not coming as a surprise to those here locally---but they will be taking a toll---?it going to hurt again we were just getting back to our a little up tick and people getting back out and dipping their toe in the water and now wee going to go back to where we were before."

And when it comes to enforcing the rules-- "from what i've sen everybody has been really good---everyone is wearing a mask and keeping their distance we haven't had many issues like some places."

Stay with us as i'll have more on this story tonight at nine and ten... for now reporting in henderson-- megan diventi.
