Breken Terry was at the Limestone County virtual Board of Education meeting where the board discussed reopening plans.

Virtual board of education meeting, breken?

Superintendent chad holden said he's spoke with local officials and it's just not safe for students to return august 10th because there is a spike in coronavirus cases in the shoals, holden knows this because he was one of those cases.

Holden was actually in the hospital for two days last week after he tested positive for the coronavirus on july 19th.

Holden told me he ended up getting pneumonia too so he was hospitalized to get some fluids to help combat the virus and pneumonia.

He said he's now doing better and hasn't had any symptoms since last thursday.

Holden said he has no idea how he got the virus but came down with a fever july 13th and immediately got tested and quarantined.

Holden said right now all options are on the table for muscle shoals city schools.

He said parents want traditional school and he understands that.

Virtual school and a staggered start back are all on the table.

An official decision will be announced august 10th.
