The destruction caused by a tornado was unveiled as the sun rose in Suffolk, Virginia on August 4.

A tornado reportedly passed through the area seeing dozens of trees splinter and scatter across the city's roads.

Eastern Virginia and northeast North Carolina have been put on tornado watch as Hurricane Isaias makes it way up America's east coast.

Wakefield's National Weather Service tweeted: "A radar-confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado is on the ground and moving toward Downtown Suffolk, Va!

If you live in/near Suffolk or know someone who does, take shelter immediately!"
