2020 Countdown to Kickoff: Bluffton Tigers

Bluffton continues our coverage of the ACAC in our Countdown to Kickoff.

On 3 3 3 3 3 )hey good evening everyone..

Well we are now just two weeks away from the scheduled start of the 2020 high school football season here in indiana..and as the excitment and anticipation continues to build, tonight our countdown to kickoff takes us down to wells county as we check in on a couple more squads from the ac-ac..)and we begin with bluffton...the tigers are coming off one of the best seasons they've had in a long time, but it didn't end the way they had hoped...after going 7-2 in the regular season, brent kunkel's boys were bounced in the first round of sectionals by fairfield...they're hoping they can make a little more noise in the postseason this time around, and they've got the talent to do it..the tigers return a good ammount of experience on both sides of the ball, including senior quarterback hayden nern, who threw for 16 hundred yards and 13 touchdowns last season..) hayden nern: "i feel like last year we beat the teams that we were supposed to beat, and the teams we were supposed to have a little competition we didn't come through with.

Obviously in the sectional we didn't win a game that we were supposed to win, and we thought we could just walk in there going into win, so we just need to have our mindset ready that we can't just beat everybody."

Brent kunkel: "the good thing about losing to fairfield like we did, and all credit to them.

They deserved to win that game.

Coach has done a good job up there.

It kind of gave our guys a punch of the gut and say 'this could end anytime.'

It's kind of motivated them to do things better than we've done in the past."bobby malcolm: "just take no one light.

Take everyone like they're a hundred times better than us, and put every bit of effort we have forward.

I'm expecting a sectional championship.

Every single year since we lost against bremen i've been hunting for it, been feasting for it.

I think everyone else out here has been too."kunkel: "it's been 32 years since we won a sectional title here at bluffton.

That's our ultimate goal.

Someday it's going to happen.

It would be great if it was this year, but we're going to keep trying to get better every day and hope that this is
