Countdown To Kickoff: Vincennes Lincoln

The Alices are returning to the SIAC, and are hoping to make a big impact.

Team went through last year.

The alices were 3 games under .500 at one point..

But midway through the season..

They started firing on all cylinders.

Andrew garcia begins our countdown to kickoff coverage with boys in vincennes.

2019 was one to remember for vincennes lincoln.

The alices claimed the 7th sectional crown in program history and the first since 2006.

It was fantastic man, at the beginning of the season we battled a little bit.

We weren't doing too hot but then week four something clicked and since then we've started grinding and grinding and sectional time came and we came out with a championship.

All our hard work paid off and after week four, or week five, we started focusing in and that's what happened.

Lincoln got off to a forgettable 1-4 start, but rallied to win 7 in a row before falling in the regional championship.

During that streak, the team tightened up their defense and allowed no more than 21 points a game, but if you ask the alices, it was about more than cleaning things up on one side of the ball alone.

One of the main things probably was our offense production picked up, so our time of possession on offense was extended and that really helped out our defense but we made some position changes.

We moved some kids around to get some faster kids on the field and we started playing some younger kids as well.

We just went with the kids that we knew were going to know what they were doing and bought into the program.

Our defense right now i think we return like 9 people from defense last year and we all just believed in something.

We all just bought into it and after that, it was over with.

Now a member of the siac, vincennes lincoln believes they have a more challenging schedule which will prepare them in the long run.

It will definitely make us a lot stronger every week is going to be a tough competition.

We're going to have to play our hardest and give it all we got and in the postseason, we're going to be expected to win, and that's what we're going to do.
