A former tates creek high school basketball player.... murdered over the weekend in lexington... is being remembered tonight.

18-year-old mykel waide was shot and killed early monday morning near the residence inn on newtown pike after police say a large fight broke out.

Police say three other people were also shot... but are expected to be okay.

A walk to end gun violence is set for tonight in waide's honor.

Organizers tell us it will begin at six p-m at the shell station on newtown pike... near where waide was shot and killed.

It will end with a candlelight vigil at douglass park at seven.
