Youknow people are very, very wearyand paranoid about catchingCOVID-19 and they try to stayaway from people."(10s)Doyle says COVID-19 didn’t julead to more mail-in ballots, italso caused a lot of poworkers to stay home.Tommy Doyle, Lee CountySupervisor of Elections: "Wewere down about 1,000 pollworkers, and so we decided thatwe would consolidate, from 125polling locations to 90."(11s)But regardless, Doyle says theelection went smoothly, and hesays he wants to see even morepeople vote by mail in November."Request your vote by mail, anduse it as an insurance policy incase something else happens, thepandemic gets worse.
