Ok i am all set for my first day of school in 2020.

I've got my notebook and pen, my backpack, and i have already go my mask on, of course we are starting class in the middle of a pandemic.

So we are checking in to see how things have been going in school buildings across the greater lafayette area.

And here at west lafayette elementary, given the circumstances, times are good!

Nat west lafayette elementary principal amber targgart's new school year is off to a great start..

Despite facing the numerous challenges of returning to in- person classes during a pandemic..

Students throughout the west lafayette community school corporation answered the challenge rocky: even had some high school students say how happy they were to be back and they are going to whatever they have to do to ensure that they can stay in school and make this work.

Superintendent dr. rocky killion commended students for their buy-in to start the school year..

But he knows to expect this type of learning will take time to get used to..

Rocky: it's just practice and practice and practice.

And practice makes perfect..

It's all part of a daily effort to bring students across the area..

A safe and healthy education..

Rocky: you do the best you can, healthy, safe, do as much as you can with communication and make adjustments as you need to.
