A wealthy Singaporean businessman built an outdoor theatre in a graveyard - to entertain the dead whose family no longer visit them.

The eccentric millionaire, who has not been named, hired the exhibition team to build a two-screen outdoor threatre at the Chinese cemerary in Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand.

He told them that he wanted to pay respect to ghosts whose family had long forgotten about them.

The luxurious outdoor movie set up was placed at the Hong Nidhra Thammasathan Cemetery on August 20.

The head of the movie team Yossak Suriyachantrathong said it was one of the strangest projects he ever handled in his career.

He said: "I was pleased to project the movies for the spirits to watch, even though the atmosphere was a bit scary.'' The movie showing confused superstitious villagers who visited in the day to watch but were too scared to watch the "creepy" theatre at night.

Yossak said the businessman had paid for the cinema to screen movies every day and night from August 19 evening until August 28.
