2 killed in Redding plane crash, cause remains unknown

The City of Redding says there is still no cause for the accident.

First - tonight: 2 people are dead... and 2 others are injured after a plane crashed into a ravine right next to benton airpark in redding..

Police tell me that the plane took off from benton airpark.

Which is just right across from where the crash happened.

Behind me: one way control traffic is still ongoing.

And it's been like that since this morning.

Debris scattered across the ground authorities were going through parts of the plane.

Authorities tell me: the crash happened just before 7 a-m this morning.

When fire crews got on scene: they found plane engulfed in flames-- the fire spread then spreading to the nearby vegetation.

People i spoke to tell me: they could even see the smoke from the plane from a distance.

I was walking and i've seen all this whole bunch of black smoke and i didn't know where it was coming from and i got closer and i seen a bunch of cop cars and fire trucks coming up on placer at this time: authorities are not releasing the names of the victims. police tell me that the plane took off from benton airpark.
