According to CEO and Eight Days of Hope Founder Stephen Tybor, leadership teams are leaving Friday morning to serve families whose lives have been impacted by Hurricane Laura.

Here, volunteers and leaders are preparing to head down to the lake charles area in louisiana tomorrow to help with hurricane relief efforts.

Today, they've been packing up.

According to c-e-o and eight days of hope founder stephen ("steven") tybor, leadership teams are leaving tomorrow morning to serve families whose lives have been impacted by hurricane laura.

He said the organization will start moving equipment tomorrow morning and on into the weekend.

In times like these, tybor said families simply need support.

"louisiana hasn't seen a disaster like this ever, a hurricane of this strength that they just saw yesterday, and people need strangers that show up to the door and help them with their house, putting a tarp, doing some chainsaw work."

Tybor added eight days of hope goes to different places around the country as needed to help people after disasters.

The organization's been helping families recover from wind damage in iowa.

According to tybor, there's something special that happens when people help.

"i think when they meet the volunteers, they get a glimmer of hope, you know, a little joy goes back into their step.

It's great for the volunteers, too."

Tybor said eight days of hope is expecting hundreds of volunteers from around the country to show up and help in volunteers from around the country to show up and help in louisiana.
