Instead the athletic director and head coach said they are preparing their players for a robust season by following the governor's mandate.

((sot)) "we do want to finish the season.

To finish the season, we have to follow all these protocols."

Jeff roberts-head football coach, choctaw county high school jeff roberts is the head coach of the choctaw county high school football team.

He said the players are doing their part to have a healthy season during the pandemic.

"it takes us probably 30-45 minutes before we ever actually get to dress out for practice, just to go through the process."

The football players were supposed to have their first scrimmage of the season tonight, but the weather pushed it back.

Athletic director jim woods said until the governor amends the current order, the sports teams will continue to follow safety protocols.

((sot)) "we're going to have to be very flexible.

I think we had a great plan in place for this week as far as getting tickets to the opposing team, the number of people who will be allowed in the stadium."

Jim woods-athletic director woods said they plan to social distance at games, wear masks and change the rules of the concession stands.

"we're just waiting to hear what the governor holds as far as the number of people allowed to come in the stadium."

The scrimmage will now be next friday at 7 pm.
