What can we do to limit our exposure to the smoke with the hot temps this week how can we stay cool inside our home without bringing too much smoke into our homes?

What about masks?

We now have to wear masks pretty much everywhere we go---do our masks help with the exposure to smoke?

What are the health effects of breathing too much smoke starting today, the douglas forest protective association will move to "industrial fire precaution level 4."

That means all industrial activity is prohibited on all land in the douglas district.

For the general public, d-f-p-a's public use restrictions remain in effect -- and the fire danger rating is still extreme.

Also today, all coos forest protective association fire zones will go to a level 4 closure.

Regulated use will remain at extreme - red.

Very poor air quality is expected tuesday and wednesday.

This poor air quality is due to smoke from the cascades being brought in from unusually strong easterly winds.

Expect smoke to linger through the day tuesday and wednesday then finally mix out as a change in wind direction is expected thursday.

Those who have respitory issues should avoid being outside if possible.

The red flag warnings are still in effect until 8:00 pm wednesday.
