Xxx george... some people might be wondering why it matters that a new city administrator will be taking over at city hall.

And the simple answer is the city administrator is the person who actually implements the changes you vote for on a city level.

The administrator takes the agenda of the mayor and city council... and puts it into action.

The next administrator will have plenty on their plate thanks to coronavirus... destination medical center... and new city council members.

They'll also likely have a budget that's about 100?

"* dolla smaller than this year's budget to work with.

Outgoing city administrator steve rymer says the next person to take the job will also need to keep a close eye on the areas outside of downtown rochester.

Xxx "when we look at the dmc and working with them, that's part of who we are as a community, but it's not our entire community.

It's part of our downtown area, and so as we're looking at investing, we need to make sure that we're investing in all the different areas."

Rymer says it will be critical the next city administrator get up to speed with the issues quickly.
