Many animals have been displaced and left behind as fires continue to burn all throughout Northern California and the North Valley Animal Disaster Group teams showed Action News Now how these animals are being cared for and brought back to safety.

Also, they will leave the paperwork there incase people come home, they know what is going on and they also perform evacuation if they want to get that animal out of there."

Earlier todayãi went out with one of the navgad crews to clipper mills where they evacuated due to fast spreading fires.

We're all here because we love animals, so to know that we can get these guys to a safe place and it's harder when we leave the area and we're unable to contain an animal that might be running in the yard.

While animal control officer linda newman loves her job, she shares with me some of the challenges and dangers.

Sot/linda newman/animal control officer "anything behind fire lines, obviously there is a risk because you know the public is not allowed up here right now because of the dangers and weather can change at any time and fire is unpredictable, so there is definitely a degree of danger involved."

Nats of cats meowin* "so all four cats were in the house and with this area being in imminent danger, we are going to evacuate them so, we are able to take all four cats down and i'll leave a notice at the house and when we get back into cell phone reception, i will call the owner and let her know where the cats are at."

Once the animals have been evacuated, they take them to the animal shelters and care for them until they can reunite with their owners in orovilleãi'm dani masten action news now coverage you can count on.
