Portions of Lake Oroville State Recreation Area remain closed to the public due to the Bear Fire.

However, houseboat owners will be given limited access to inspect their boats.

Broke out in butte county last week - and now - some parts of oroville are set to partially open but only select people are allowed in.

Action news now reporter jafet serrato is live at the marina lime saddle area... jafet who can come in and what time?

If you own a house boat and it's on lake oroville lime saddle or bidwell canyon... you will be able to pass these barriers at 8 o clock this morning to inspect it.

The only way you can access it... is if you take a shuttle.

You cannot bring another boat... because the boat ramps will still be closed.

I met with jason maxson... assistant manager at marina lime saddle.

I asked him what the best scenario would be for state park rangers to fully reopen the lake.

"if we can get aircraft on these fires and get enough personnel to actually start putting it out then we can mitigate the smoke.

Once the smoke is out of here and the chances of that fire turning around and coming back this way, i think that's when the incident commanders of this fire will allow access to the park" you will have to bring i-d that you own a house boat at one of the marinas.

And everyone has to leave by 5 o clock in the afternoon.

We checked - only one house boat has burned during the bear fire.

It is not clear whether it came from the bear fire.

All campgrounds will continue to remain closed.
