Deputy.

Thanks for joining us tonight -- i'm najahe sherman.

And i'm dan shaffer.

We're wrapping up another night of friday night football.

For one marshall county school it was their first home game after two were called off due to the coronavirus.

Waay 31's will robinson-smith is live at d-a-r high school where the patriots welcomed the westminster christian academy wildcats.

Tonight's game meant a lot for this school since it was thier first opportunity to play at home.

However -- the full team wasn't able to be on display tonight.

Principal marsha mitchell says seven football players are currently in quarantine -- one of them tested positive for coronavirus.

There is also another student who tested positive for coronavirus.

During the game tonight -- fans were mostly socially distant thanks to the bleachers being marked off.

We've asked them to sit together as family units and then spread that six feet apart.

So we've guided them just by putting down some markers in the stadium.

As far as masks went tonight -- that was somewhat hit or miss in the stands -- from what we saw.

Mitchell says she is encouraged to see that marshall county remained in the "low risk" coronavirus category from the state health department.

She's hopeful that if the community continues to do its part -- that perhaps things can feel more like normal soon.

Reporting live in grant -- will robinson-smith -- waay 31 news.
