'Circle The Fort' Trump rallygoers take celebratory drive around I-469

Participants started the rally ride in Wabash County and drove through Fort Wayne, 'looping' Interstate 469.

Today the 'trump train' took over interstate 469 as ralliers celebrated this afternoon, hour after hour, even through the traffic.

Fox 55's mallory beard spoke with event organizers and participants to get a closer look at what they call 'cirlcing the fort.'

Cars paraded with trump flags up and down i-469 this afternoon .

Participant reid hobbs says the "circle the fort 469 trump caravan rally" was something to remember.

Reid hobbs//participant "i think it's going to motivate a lot of people to be more involved really.

Seeing all the people get together like that just shows you how many people are for trump."

Hobbs says covid-19 restrictions are why participants chose to ride versus rallying in groups.reid hobbs//participant that's our main goal in doing this stuff.

You know, show our support but make sure we do it safely and not cause people inconvenience or trouble with it."

The rally started in wabash county... going through fort wayne and circling the 69 highway.

Event co-organizer laura cole says the 25-mile 'trump train' looped around the highway for almost four hours.

"about a month ago we put the page up.

And were just going to do it small and have a rally within wabash county and we just decided to go big or go home."

She says the response was overwhelming.

Organizing, and asking where people were going to meet along the way."

Garnering support from law enforcement, and even out of state participants.
