Creative teachers from the Philippines built an improvised fogging machine using discarded materials to disinfect textbooks for students.

School principal Ceasario Quirona from Ragay Science and Math Oriented High School in Camarines Sur, the Philippines revealed the machine on October 7.

The proud teacher said the device was developed with ideas from his colleagues, which they built during the quarantine.

The fogging machine is made of scrap metals, pieces of wood and plastic covers.

It was painted sky blue to match the official colours of the school.

Books and other learning materials will be placed inside the box before fogging it with a disinfecting solution.

By doing this, the teachers hope that the books will reach the students free from virus.

Teacher Ceasario said: "We did this to keep our students and colleagues safe.

We hope to reduce virus transmission from the opening of classes by doing this." The country, which is still under a lockdown of various degrees, has shifted to online classes during the pandemic.

However, remote regions without internet access will have to use books and materials which are printed at school by teachers and brought to students' homes.
