This after the board of alderman decided to cancel the annual trunk or treat.

"we just need to be safe and be cautious."

Dustin eaton is one of many board members who decided to cancel the popular trunk or treat event in houlka because of safety concerns.

"hundred kids coming around, we're afraid of a outbreak of covid gets going."

He says the best thing for the community to do right now is wait for cases to decrease.

He urged families to find safe ways to celebrate the holiday, and encourages the tradition of door to door trick or treating.

"keep your hands clean, make sure your hands are clean when you give the candy out but we are going to put ours in a plastic bag and give them out a bag at a time.

Keep in mind medical experts are encouraging all children to wear a mask to prevent the spread of the virus.
