Over 34 million Americans suffer from diabetes daily, and fitness Patrick Netter joins us to share some exercise options for diabetics

C1 well diabetes day is this month and over 34 million americans suffer with the disease.

Exercise helps control weight, lower blood pressure and lower ldl and triglycerides.

Patrick is here to talk about exercise and the mini tread.

The first to use while seated.

>> i don't think anyone in the world has jodie, it's something that for all of us who you know we're working at home more and more.

Tens of millions and statistics a lot of experts say maybe 30 to 40% will never go back to the office.

We're sitting on a zoom call right now.

Here's the funny part.

The whole time we have been talking, check this out.

I have been on the move.

Wow, i had no idea.

I can concentrate because the magic is the motor.

It's motorized.

I don't have to think about it, it's automatic.

There are under the desk items i used but the problem is we have to think about what we're doing in terms of activity because our muscles start to ache.

With the mini tread.

I find i'm not thinking about it.

I can concentrate on talking to you.

>> that is fascinating.

Especially when you walk on a treadmill, you can fall off easily.

Using that mini tread is a neat invention there.

That's a great point and a lot of people who have balance issues, due to age, due to a physical condition, could actually have issues with a traditional treadmill, when you're seated at your chair, you feel so much more comfortable.

>> absolutely.

I have to ask you, my dad has is prediabetic.

My mom was diabetic.

My husband's mom is diabetic.

We have all these people in our family and i know people in the country have that.

What can you tell us about avoiding going down that path or how can you try to avoid that genetic history?

>> well, you bring up another good point jody, according to the world health organization, it's about one out of 10 have diabetes.

Type two, so it's a question what you eat.

That is to keep the sugar, the salt, the fact down and eat more fresh vegetables, seeds, in other words, what we, there are a lot of books that tell you exactly what to eat and what to stay away from, but it's the movement that we're talking about that i think is key to helping lower ldl, blood pressure and burn more calories.

>> that's great advice.

We all need to get on some treadmill, the mini, great advice, we appreciate
