Small Town Citizens Take on Big Industrial Waste - East Palestine Saga Continues

February 3, 2023, at 8:55 p.m., 38 cars of a Norfolk Southern freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed in East Palestine, Ohio, United States.

The governor of Ohio, Mike Dewine, authorized the burning of a mixture of chemicals sending toxic fumes into the air, and polluting the soil and ground in the surrounding area.

A hazardous waste incendiary company, Ross Environmental Services Inc., was contracted to burn suspected polluted soil.

One, shockingly, is currently zoned as residential, just 3 miles from homes.

These citizens have launched a major campaign to stop the rezoning of this land that was approved by township trustees.
