[UPSOUND OF CHEERS AS SEN.

ELIZABETH WARREN RUNS ON STAGE] When U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren jogged onstage at the University of Iowa last week, it wasn't just college students in the crowd.

Those attending her largest rally yet reflected a diverse coalition of potential voters now backing Warren.

Among them: the college educated, high-wage earners - but also low wage earners... helping make her the only presidential candidate for the 2020 Democratic nomination to consistently increase her level of support over the past six months, according to Reuters/Ipsos polling of Democrats and Independents.

Reuters polling editor Chris Kahn explains.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) REUTERS POLLING EDITOR CHRIS KAHN SAYING: "We've seen Elizabeth Warren's support rise among a broad coalition of voters.

We're talking about retirees, we're talking about part-time workers, we're talking about people who live in the suburbs.

The only group that we really haven't seen a sharp rise in her support are millennials.

Younger people are still a little bit cautious about Elizabeth Warren and they're mostly supporting Bernie Sanders.

Warren for a very long time has had a reputation as kind of an academic.

Someone who had a lot of answers to a lot of questions, a lot of policy proposals.

But what we're finding is that on the campaign trail she has a real personal charm.

She's connecting with people in ways that we didn't expect her to.

She's taking selfies with everyone.

There are long lines - there are huge crowds showing up to hear her speak." That enthusiasm is also showing in the polls.

Eight in 10 Warren supporters said they were "completely certain" they would vote in the 2020 presidential election, compared to 7 in 10 Joe Biden supporters and 6 of 10 Bernie Sanders fans.

Warren - a former academic whose core issues concern consumer protection, healthcare and eradicating student debt - has tripled her support in recent months, and is trailing just Biden among all the Democratic candidates.

But recently in Iowa - home to the first caucus in the nation - a Des Moines Register poll found Warren edging out Biden for the first time.
