Local businesses may be ready to reopen their doors as soon as next Friday, and various industries are navigating intricacies of the guidelines required to do so.

The business community tell us many owners are feeling anxious as they try to navigate the state's reopening guidelines.

Kezi 9 news reporter chris lueneburg learned about the challenges they'll face if they want to be ready next friday.

Urban babes hair loft opened just weeks before the stay at home order.

"i feel like all of the success leading up to it was a letdown."

Social distancing, personal protective equipment, disposable capes and aprons..

Ramos says reopening requirments are challenging and expensive-- and she's allready dipped into her savings.

"i think everyone's a little scared and a little nervous to get back to this new norm.

But everyone needs to financially.

So we are very, very eager."

Guidelines require salons to limit visits to scheduled appointments and ask clients covid screening questions... "when retailers reopen sanitization and social distancing is the name of the game-- and business owners say figuring that out will take some effort."

Social distancing signage is also required-- another thing on the list.

"we are going to have to keep everything clean on a customer by customer basis.

That's just not something we are used to so we will need to implement those procedures and make sure it happens."

Eugene chamber of commerce's brittany quick- warner says this all takes time and money... and those who even got triple p loans need to use it mostly for payroll-- which they'd like to see cover more.

"supplies and things they are going to have to purchase to reopen."

She says business owners should start contacting staff soon, and ordering supplies in case there are supply chain issues.

"most of if not all of the different industries are going to require that their employees wear masks so businesses are going to have to figure out how to get that for their employees."

Another step towards opening doors-- and many can't wait.

"it's going to be challenging but we will do whatever it takes."
