Curry County prepares for Friday reopening under Phase One plan

Curry was among more than 30 Oregon counties approved to enter Phase One on May 15.

Curry county learned it was approved to into phase one late last night.

So you got the word last night.

What have you been doing in the interim and what does the future look like for curry county?

Well, we've been sending out press releases, try and first to get to our local companies and businesses, employer, employers, and just getting them a good news.

And we've been for two months.

Uh, going through this period and try to help them.

And so now we're, we're very thankful, mr. morton, that is may.

And we believe that there's a good chance we can save our summer visitors.

He's, how concerned are you and your businesses that as those tourists, you hope come back flood into your county, that you'll be able to protect not only them from the folks in curry county, but the folks in curry county from them.

You know, it's what we've learned this last two months, actually two and a half months has just been incredible.

Uh, we have a hospital capacities.

As you probably know, we have a brand new four-story hospital in gold beach, serves the entire county of 23,000.

Uh, they have done incredibly astute planning.

Uh, we have our.

Uh, testing in order.

We have our, our capacities for should we have another surge?

We are well-prepared, although we are diligent at best, not going to happen.

What types of things have your businesses done in curry county to prepare for those, uh, incoming customers or reopening their businesses?

It's, i think, has been a tremendous education for all of us, uh, was in.
