Tupelo observes Memorial Day during the coronavirus

Have the chairs set up to accommodate social distancing recommendation s.

People say it is an honor and privilege to celebrate the many people who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

Nats drums playing a day to honor america's finest... sot scott burns, marine veteran- "it's a day to respect the men and women that served before me."

And a constant reminder to never forget america's fallen.

Nat "we're entirely in a somber reflection because of those that have sacrificed so much.

Many attendees still mourning their loved ones.

Sot kimberly hitchcock, ceremony attendee- "we've had some family members die in the process of fighting for our freedom."

Others still bearing the effects of their choice to serve.

Sot- scott burns -" i actually got hurt training and dealt with it for twenty-something years.

The freedoms that i have came at a cost and somebody was willing to pay that price.

With seats spaced out for social distancing and special masks being handed out to keep everyone safe.

"you have a lot of seniors, a lot of older people that come out here and participate in this program and they're in that vulnerable group so we want to make ourselves safe for them."

And though we still remain apart, the crowd is reminded to always remember the soldiers that keep our country together.
