As summer activities pick up, law enforcement are having a harder and harder time of enforcing social distancing.

A lot of you took advantage of the great weather, this memorial day.

Also caused extra work for police across parks.

Ashley carter spoke with a park ranger who said they were trying their best.

>> park rangers told me memorial day is a busy time of year at little river canyon but this year is busier than usual.

Park ranger matt switzer says while staff is reminding people to stay the six feet apart guidelines, it is their responsibility to follow the rules.

Park ranger matt switzer said ever since alabama eased coronavirus restrictions, thousands visited little canyon preserve in fort payne.

He says making sure people are staying six feet apart isn't the staff's priority and don't plan on actively enforcing guidelines >> keep in mind their own health , keeping around other people, the health of their family and other visitors.

Social distancing is the individual's responsibilities and we'd like to hope all our visitors out here will be aware of that.
