Partnership provides care packages to Rochester families

New on daybreak new for you on daybreak... there will be lots of smiles today as hundreds of care packages will be handed out to families in rochester.

Kimt new 3's madelyne watkins joins us live this morning to tell us about the partnership making this happen.

225 care packages full of items like some snacks and school supplies will be delivered to students of the boys and girls club today.

And it'll be the first time the employees will get to see these kids since this pandemic started!

Wanted to help out the families of boys and girls club to make sure no one falls behind right now.

Ceo of boys and girls club, chad campbell, tells me the kids they serve already face many obstacles and this pandemic is only adding to that.

But when the community shows their support for them?

Like with these care packages??

He says that gives them just a little bit of "when the community steps up and says, number 1: we see you, we hear you, we recognize that what you're going through is hard and that we're not all encountering this experience the same way.

And number 2: we wanna step up and help out.

How can we be there for you during a time that's incredibly difficult."
