Making sure kids feel the love

A kind gesture is sparking joy for some rochester families stuck at home during the pandemic.

Kimt news 3's annalise johnson is finding out how the boys and girls club is staying connected with its kids even while the center is closed.

"* wrapping right now... staff from the boys and girls club of rochester and penz automotive group are finishing dropping off more than 200 care packages at the doorsteps of children in the club.

The boys and girls club held a rally before heading out on their routes to deliver care packages.

They contain things like crafts and snacks to keep kids busy and entertained at home.

This is the first time since the club's closure that many staff and kids are seeing each other, they stayed socially distant during the drop off ?

"* but wanted to remind everyone that they are missed.

This whole experience is affecting people so many different ways and so many different families in different ways and the kids that we serve are getting the brunt of a lot of this and we're just grateful for our community for stepping up the club here will be opening again sometime soon for a summer program ?

"(but it will operate a little differently and will not be able to accommodate as many children as usual because of the pandemic.
