With 9,440 COVID-19 patients cured in the last 24 hours, the COVID-19 recovery rate of India has increased to 55.77 per cent, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday.

With the increasing cases of COVID-19, India reported an increase of increase of 14,821 new cases in 24 hours on June 22.

The total positive cases have crossed 4.2 lakh mark in the country.

Maharashtra tops the list of worst affected states with 3721 new cases and 62 deaths.

On the other hand, Tamil Nadu reported 2,710 new active cases and 37 deaths today.

The total number of cases in the state is 62,087 and death toll is 794.

Number of active cases stands at 27,178.
