WAAY 31's Breken Terry was live with what the Governor's extended safer at home order means for you.

Home order means for you.

Live: in her first appearance to most of the state since the end of april, governor kay ivey doubled down on resisting any temptation to close businesses or mandate masks.

But she did say she's "asking nicely for people to do the right thing."

<ivey- when your in public for goodness sake wear a mask.

Harris- there are many people who aren't getting the message.

Our state has opened up in many ways but right now is not a time to let our guard down.

Ivey- doctor harris and i can order you to wear a mask but it would be next to impossible to enforce but you know you shouldn't have to order somebody to do just what is in your own best interest your family friends and neighbors.

Ivey- maintain six foot distancing and we strongly encourage you to wear a face mask while in public.

And whether that means your just running to the grocery store or going to pick up a pair of shoes for your child or going to the office your personal responsibility means it's everyone's responsibility.

> to break it down simply, despite almost 11 thousand new cases in the past two weeks, no new restrictions are coming.

Ivey dis stress we need to learn how to live with coronavirus.

Live in flo bt waay31.
