Crews work to fight the Holiday Farm Fire

The Holiday Farm Fire has now burned 172,000 acres and is 10 percent contained.

I was just told that crews have made good progress on the southeastern part of the fire, as you see right here.

And today i spoke to fire chief with mckenzie fire and rescue his district runs from the springfield city limits to blue river.

He told me he feels like the threat to homes is coming to a close.

And theyve been working with the county and commissioners to help speed things up with the cleanup effort.

The district has received an enormous amount of calls so more crews will be filling in to assist with questions.

"we are pushing hard to get people back to their homes.

And we are also pushing hard to get people back to their areas that were lost."

He says from goodpasture on up extremely hazardous.

So safety must be made a priority.

The public is advised to continue following all evacuation orders in place.
