A firefighter who was born and raised in Berry Creek who lost her home during the Bear Fire received a generous donation on Saturday.

The bear fire has left hundreds without homes - including some who are battling the flames on the frontlines.

Action news now reporter kristian lopez spoke to a local firefighter who was impacted and how she is getting help from her community.

Katherine molohon, a firefighter - born and raised in berry creek was on the frontlines when the bear fire ripped through her hometown.

We were honking the horn and using the microphone to just yell.

I went to the camp fire but this one was more personal because it was my home.

A home that was ultimately consumed by the flames.....but she soon learned she'd be recieving a free trailer from generous donors...... barbara schultheis and ana esquiel/donated rv: we'd been watching all the fires around california and we feel overwhelmed when we see people living in tents and we look out the window and see a trailer and we think we can do something good for someone give them something to live.

Kristian stand up:so they drove 8 hours to deliver the trailer and meet katherine personally.
