For those families that wish to stay virtual, online courses are offered for K-12 as well.

Another option for paradise unified parents is for their students to learn online.

Action news now reporter esteban reynoso joins us now with more on where parents can learn more about this online option?

To find out more information on all of paradise unified's learning models for this school year -- you start on their home page p-u-s-d-k-12-dot- org -- you click on covid-19 and the first link you come across is the school year planning guide.

In here it has information on all the learning models.

If parents choose online, it means complete virtual learning and requires students to participate and log-in daily.

She is a cancer surivivor, which makes her susceptible to covid-19.

So her grandchildren will be learning through online.

"well i have a 75% chance of this coming back again, so i'm terrified, i'm terrified.

We have a choice and my grandkids are not going back to school period.

And i'm sorry but my family is going to stay safe.

Until there is a vaccine for the covid, my grandkids are not going back to school."

Hauptman urges parents to think twice before sending their children to school in- person.

This was a survey almost 300 parents submitted in may of this year to the paradise unified -- less than 12% of the responses wished to continue online learning, alan, back to you.

Paradise unified say in their online learning model, families that do not have access to daily connectivity will be provided with a laptop and a hotspot.
